Hotel Palumbo Ravello

The 5 star Hotel Palumbo, situated in the cliff top town of Ravello, is a fascinating building of great historical interest transformed over a century ago in to a charming residence for the international guests of the then owners Pasquale Palumbo and Elisabeth Von Wartburg. Moorish style ogival arches, ancient Greek and Roman marble columns, majolica floor tiles, precious ceramic plates and ornaments are just some of the features which make this elegant villa and one time retreat of some of the world's most eminent artists, a truly unique hotel.
No two bedrooms are the same; all individually decorated and skillfully reconciling the medieval origins of the building with today's travelers' requirements of comfort and technology. All 21 rooms and suites of the Hotel Palumbo are furnished with precious antiques dating back to the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.
In addition to the excellent Mediterranean cuisine served there, the dining rooms of the hotel Palumbo are in themselves quite spectacular. The supremely elegant 17th century "Sala San Giovanni" dining room features Guido Reni's masterpiece depicting St. John the Baptist. Terracotta floors with ceramic tile inserts and fabulous frescoed ceilings complete the opulent decor. The "Sala Grande", has a huge fireplace dating back to the late 1800s and a wonderful majolica floor. In the summer months guests may choose to have lunch or dinner on the hotel's panoramic terrace.
An elaborate network of pergolas lead out from the building in to the hotel's beautifully kept Mediterranean gardens. Every attempt has been made to keep the landscape design as faithful as possible to the original. An abundance of sweet smelling roses, orange and lemon trees, and a marvelous 17th Century colonnade frame exceptionally panoramic views out over the entire Amalfi Coast. For those unable to resist the temptation of the Mediterranean sea, Hotel Palumbo has a Villa with private access to the shore, a solarium facility, a swimming pool and a staff at disposal. The villa is located 6 km away from the hotel, and linked by shuttle service.

By Train - Naples Train Station (56 km). Salerno Train Station (30 km).
By Ferryboat or Hydrofoil - Daily connections by ferryboat or hydrofoil from May to October. Amalfi is the nearest port, you may reach: Positano, Capri, Naples, Salerno, Sorrento, Capri, Ischia.

By Car - From the North: Take autostrada A3 south (motorway A3 south) from Rome to Naples. After Naples keep on autostrada A3 south towards Salerno for 38 km. Exit at Angri. Follow the signs Costiera Amalfitana-Valico di Chiunzi-Ravello.
From the South: Arriving from the Campania region you are on autostrada A3 north (motorway A3 North), exit at Salerno Centro take a left turn, follow signs Costiera Amalfitana and Vietri sul Mare. Once you reach Vietri proceed in the direction of Ravello, passing by Cetara, Erchie, maiori, Minori.
